Having walked over 2800 miles from Cabo da Roca, Portugal to the shores of the Bosporus in Istanbul, Turkey, John Halvorsen has completed the European stage of Prayer Walk Eurasia and is now walking through Asia. He began walking from Istanbul, Turkey on November 30, 2009, and is heading to the western border of China.
Beginning on December 2, 2008, John walked 20 miles (32km) a day, five days a week, and finished walking across Southern and Eastern Europe on July 2, 2009. During that time he prayerwalked through Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, and Bulgaria, and has now reached the Asian border as he crossed into European Turkey. He was accompanied on this stage of the walk by his wife, Sandy, and daughter, Laura. God’s goodness and grace has been evident throughout the walk.
John is no stranger to prayerwalking. He has already completed a 5,000 mile (8,000km) walk across the United States, walking from the Canadian border to the Gulf of Mexico, and from the Pacific Ocean in Oregon to the Atlantic Ocean in Delaware.
John's wife, Sandy, has joined him again and is writing a journal about the walk. You can read her entries here each week by following the link on the left. |
